Cancelling and removing
Leaving ParentProof
Two separate things, and you can do either without the other: cancelling stops the subscription, and removing takes the software off a device.
Cancelling the subscription
Sign in, open Account & settings, and use Manage subscription. That opens the payment provider's own portal, where cancelling is a button. We never see or hold your card details, so the cancellation is made there rather than by asking us.
Cancelling does not remove anything by itself. The apps stay where they are and keep protecting whoever they were set up for until you remove them with the steps below. If that is what you want, you can stop reading here.
Removing it from a device
Ending supervision is permanent — a tablet needs the whole setup again to come back. So it is done on the device, by you, rather than from a button here that a mis-tap could reach.
Supervision on a tablet
The setup app can relinquish supervision and hand the device back. A factory reset from the tablet's recovery menu also clears it.
ParentProof on a Windows PC
For a computer protected during the earlier beta: open the ParentProof setup app, choose This computer, and press Remove ParentProof from this computer; or open Settings > Apps and remove ParentProof Agent. Existing testers keep a visible way out even while new desktop setup is release-hidden.
ParentProof on a Mac
For a Mac protected during the earlier beta: use the same removal button in the setup app. The web filter, background service and local ParentProof records come off together. Existing testers keep a visible way out even while new desktop setup is release-hidden.
The setup app on Windows or Mac
After the Android device is released, uninstall the setup utility like any other app. It does not protect or apply child rules to the computer it runs on. The setup utility is separate from protecting a computer; see Computers on the devices page.
If you are here because of a payment reminder
A missed payment never switches protection off. Filtering, time limits and blocking keep running on every device you have already set up, for as long as they are installed. What a lapse eventually pauses is your ability to change settings — not your child's safety. We will not hold a child's protection hostage to a card.
