Cancelling and removing
Leaving ParentProof
Two separate things, and you can do either without the other: cancelling stops the subscription, and removing takes the software off a device. This page is linked from every payment reminder we send, on purpose — being asked for a payment should never be the same thing as being stuck.
Cancelling the subscription
Sign in, open Account & settings, and use Manage subscription. That opens the payment provider's own portal, where cancelling is a button. We never see or hold your card details, so the cancellation is made there rather than by asking us.
Cancelling does not remove anything by itself. The apps stay where they are and keep protecting whoever they were set up for until you remove them with the steps below. If that is what you want, you can stop reading here.
Removing it from a device
These are instructions, not a button we press for you. Supervision ending is permanent and a tablet cannot un-do it without a full setup again — so it is not something a mis-tap, or a child who finds an unlocked parent screen, should be able to trigger. You do it, on the device, deliberately.
Supervision on a tablet
The setup app can relinquish supervision and hand the device back. A factory reset from the tablet's recovery menu also clears it.
The Windows computer agent
Two ways, take either: open the ParentProof setup app, choose This computer, and press Remove ParentProof from this computer; or open Settings > Apps (or Control Panel's "Uninstall a program") and remove ParentProof Agent from the list like any other program. Both run the same remover — there is no command line to type by hand. The remover is put in place before any change is made.
The macOS computer agent
The same button in the setup app. Full removal — including the privileged helper and the DNS LaunchDaemon — is still being completed; the page will say so until it is done, and there is no command line to run in the meantime.
The setup app itself
An ordinary application. Drag it to the Bin, or uninstall it from Windows Settings. Removing it does not un-supervise a tablet — and remove the computer agent first: the remover ships inside the setup app, so uninstalling the app first throws the remover away and leaves the agent running.

A missed payment never switches protection off. Filtering, time limits and blocking keep running on every device you have already set up, for as long as they are installed. What a lapse eventually pauses is your ability to change settings — not your child's safety. We will not hold a child's protection hostage to a card, and this page exists so that leaving is always one click away instead of something you have to ask us for.
